Leonard Cascia Pres and CEO Title:Inventor receives U.S. patent for springless valve train design for the internal combustion engine that can also recapture lost energy. U.S Patent No.8,807, 393Sub title: "Zero float valve for internal combustion engine and method of operation thereof", U.S. Pat. No. 8,087,393On January 3, 2012 the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office issued U.S. Patent No. 8,087,393, entitled “Zero Float Valve and method of operation thereof", to Leonard Cascia, as inventor, and Arrow Leads Inc., as assignee. The patented valve is designed as a cost effective, simple to make, easy to assemble, energy efficient alternative to traditional “Poppet Valve” designs.. Traditional engine technology uses a "Poppet Valve" that require a set of 2 heavy duty springs to return the poppet valve to the closed position. These poppet valves when opened extend into the combustion chamber of the cylinder. This allows the air fuel mixture to enter the cylinder or the exhaust gases to escape. Many engines today use as many as 5 poppet valves per cylinder, on an 8 cylinder engine that's 40 valves and 80 heavy duty springs. This design is complex, difficult to assemble and wastes energy.Arrow Lead’s patented "Zero Float Valve" design is directly connected to a driving force by mechanical means such as a cam and connecting rod. The patented valve can be used in an overhead or side valve configuration and does not require the valve to enter the combustion chamber of the cylinder. This design allows engineers to have greater flexibility in size and configuration of the valve. The patented valve is also more energy efficient than traditional poppet valves. By way of design and function this patent valve system design also has the ability to recapture wasted horse power during the exhaust stroke. Arrow Leads is now offering non-exclusive licensing opportunities to select organizations interested in manufacturing the patent.
